Brynnaiza Young

Her name is Brynnaiza (Brye-Nay-Zhuh), and she is a fierce Public Policy Advocate by trade with a passion for campaign coordinating. She is also happily working as a Consultant for YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Race and Culture Department. Brynnaiza strongly believes that having both a strong personal village and dedicated professional community are the keys to making large strides in a world that is institutionally designed to keep people oppressed. She knows that voices matter, especially in the world of policy. A proud first-generation Alumna of Carlow University’s Political Science program, she was inspired to pursue her passions in human rights and public policy reform after interning with Denny Civic Solutions and the Black Women’s Policy Agenda in 2020. In her most recent years, she has dabbled in the worlds of social media marketing, campaign organization, and community advocacy. She works closely with her community, ensuring that each and every member’s voice is not only heard, but also amplified with the proper care, maintenance, and productive transparency it deserves. As a young Black woman, she is no stranger to handling problematic situations with the utmost professionalism and determination needed to make systemic change. At the moment, she is focused on reforming policies around Black women’s reproductive health, comprehensive health education in public schools, and pay equity. Mimicking the words of her alma mater, “Be safe, and be well.”
