Julie Himler is the Community Education Director with YWCA York and leads the agency’s violence prevention and racial and gender equity programming. Connection to our shared humanity coupled with accountability are what drive Julie’s approach to social justice. During her five years with YWCA York, Julie has advocated for improved prevention and intervention policies and protocol within the health care system and higher education that have resulted in improved standards of practice, specialized services, and increased education and awareness. Julie is the Co-Chair of the York County Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Task Force and the Chair of the York County Fatality Review Board’s Recommendations Committee. In addition, she is a certified trainer of Mandated Reporting of Suspected Child Abuse, Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children, Parents in the Know, and Respect at Work. Julie has her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Oregon and currently resides in Mechanicsburg, PA.
